Slight Site Redesign and Bust'em Demo
- Posted 2002-06-30 00:08 PST by David Hedbor
You probably noticed that I redesigned the menus on the site. The new
horizontal, text-only menu is simpler and in my opinion easier to
navigate. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to contact me
I also posted the beta version of the demo of Digital Concepts' Bust'em. You can download it now.

New Releases and Upcoming Titles
- Posted 2002-04-24 22:15 PST by David Hedbor
First I would like to announce the first sharp (non-beta) release of
of Eligo, which is version 1.0.1 (1.0.0
wasn't released due to some serious bugs). Some highlights of the many
changes are save game capabilities, better keypad game play, better
audio quality and many other improvements. It's available for download
with full changelog from the
usual place. Be sure to download and upgrade the industrial theme
as well.
Secondly, let me announce Strategic Assault
1.8.2, which is also greatly improved over the previous
release. Some of the highlights are: keypad menu navigation for all
menues (and the standard ok/cancel buttons are handled better),
compressed data files (saves about half of the installed speed),
loading screen progress bar and much better speed control handling
with the UI is being redrawn at a fixed 30 FPS. This last change makes
the variable speeds a lot better. Again, download and full change log
is available from the download
page.
Last, but not least, I would like to announce an upcoming Sharp
Zaurus title, Interstellar Flames - a true
3D shoot'em'up from Xen Games.
Strategic Assault 1.8.1

We just released version 1.8.1 of Strategic Assault. This version
significantly improves performace (again), adds some standard
keybindnings and adds variable speeds. As usual, the download page includes a detailed
changelog.
Strategic Assault 1.8.0
- Posted 2002-03-25 00:23 PST by David Hedbor
Eon Games are proud to announce the first stable release of our real
time strategy game Strategic Assault. This version greatly improves on
the last beta release. Changes includes better performance, faster
load times, better sound quality and some fixes and additions. The download page includes a detailed
changelog.
New Beta Releases
- Posted 2002-03-05 18:46 PST by David Hedbor
Eligo 1.0b6 is released. Notable changes
include drastically improved animation speed and sound effects and
music support.
Strategic Assault beta 5 improves sound
support, adds music and fixes a problem with Forest Fire expansion
pack detection.
The improvement in sound support and addition of music is thanks to
the SDL and SDL_mixer libraries. Since these libraries are LGPL, there
are both statically and dynamically linked binaries (in regards to
SDL/SDL_mixer). The dynamically linked binaries are separate binary
only packages.

Eon Games and Xen Games proudly
presents the first beta of Strategic Assault for Qtopia. This is most
likelt the first real-time strategy game for the Sharp Zaurus / Qtopia
environment. It features many scenarios and a large selection of
military units, like tanks, helicopters and gunboats. Check it out!
Note that this is the first version. It's not complete and does
have known bugs.
Bug Tracking System Issues
- Posted 2002-02-28 8:59 PST by David Hedbor
There was just a bug report on how guest users can't view bugs. It said:
The fact that you can only submit bugs, and not view seems overly
restrictive and limiting. Do you have something to hide, or is this
just a limitation of the system?
The answer is simple - it's a current limitation in the system. I
have intentions to improve this (give guest users read only access,
which makes more sense to me) and also allow instant online
registration (if you want to report bugs).

Experimental Bug Tracking System
- Posted 2002-02-19 18:32 PST by David Hedbor
I just installed (and somewhat customized) the Workbench bug tracking
system. Although not the best of them all, it seems sufficient and was
very easy to install and use (some, like Bugzilla, have a way to
complex user interface in my opinion).
Anyone can file a bug, but to do anything else you need to become
a registered user (which, on the other hand, anyone who contacts us
can become).
